Leaning In to Our Community

Dean Elizabeth Smith reminds faculty of resources at Dartmouth.

Dear colleagues,

As we continue to assess the potential impact of recent executive orders and government directives on our community, I want to remind you of resources at Dartmouth that are available to support you.

In recent weeks, President Beilock and Provost Kotz wrote to faculty underscoring our commitment to Dartmouth's educational and research mission. Our Office of Sponsored Projects is communicating with researchers regarding orders pertaining to federal grants, and the Office of Visa and Immigration Services is updating its website to include information on the latest executive orders and administrative actions. OSP and OVIS are also meeting one-on-one with affected faculty, staff, and students every day to answer questions and advise on their individual circumstances.

I also want to remind you of the daily pop-up gatherings for faculty announced this month by Senior Vice President for Community and Campus Life Jennifer Rosales. These take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Paganucci Lounge, located just inside '53 Commons, with free coffee and pastries, through March 6.

Additionally, faculty lunches continue hosted by the Provost's Office this term at Paganucci Lounge on Feb. 25 and March 4 and 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Finally, I look forward to seeing you at our Faculty of Arts and Sciences meeting on Monday afternoon, where the agenda includes an update from Provost Kotz and President Beilock on the executive orders and federal relations.

Thank you, as ever, for your steadfast support of our mission to create knowledge and prepare students for a lifetime of learning.

Warmly,
Elizabeth
