Professional Development

Faculty Professional Development
Professional development plays a critical role in the growth of academic careers. The dean of faculty encourages all faculty to engage in opportunities that drive collaboration, facilitate learning, and enhance leadership. For questions or suggestions related to faculty development, please contact the senior advisor for faculty development, Michelle Warren.
The Office of the Dean hosts programming for tenure-track faculty, mid-career faculty, and leadership development. Offerings are announced regularly; requests and suggestions are also welcome at any time.
Venn Mentor Groups: In response to faculty interests and requests, small groups of faculty gather together around shared goals or issues, for both short- and long-term interactions. This model is inspired by the Mutual Mentoring initiative at UMass-Amherst and the Venn Vision Grants at Dartmouth. (If you have an idea, please contact us!)
